The Pearland Lady Oilers softball team made it a clean sweep of the Clements Lady Rangers Friday night with a 5-0 win in the first game and a 5-2 victory in the second.

Starting pitcher Alyssa Denham was nothing short of spectacular in both appearances. Cool as a cucumber, the junior was dominate with a total of 18 strikeouts.

Junior first baseman Sydney Guttierrez homered in both games, the first in game one gave the Lady O’s a 2-0 lead while her second blast tied the game at 1-1.

Junior right fielder Madison Clements gave Pearland a 3-1 lead in that second game after a soft toss from Clements pitcher got away from the Lady Ranger covering first . Pearland scored two more runs with two outs on Lindsey Stewart’s triple that plated Clements and a Kaylee Buck single that brought home Stewart.

Gold star catch: Senior Madison Myers who climbed the ladder to make a sensational snow cone catch at short in the second game.

Highlight reel: Sophomore Kaylee Hoppens and Myers backed up Denham nicely with some golden glove work in the infield.

Freshman Force: Kaylee Buck and Janna Roberts made key contributions in both games.

Circle of Trust: Junior pitcher Alyssa Denham was locked and loaded. In complete control in both contests. She’s been sharp in all three post-season games.

Pearland moves on the quarterfinal round of the playoffs.
